Poker Rallies

Finally! A bit of a break in the weather! I guess that’s what most people have been saying. For the rest of us hard core snowmobilers, business as usual! Both the Longlac and Geraldton snow clubs have been busy with general maintenance of our groomers keeping our trail system groomed as much and as financially feasible, as well enjoying the great outdoors on our sleds. We certainly are lucky this year with an above average snow fall , the snowmobilers across Greenstone are having a lot of fun! We’ve already had several poker rallies. We had a poker run to Caramat a few weekends ago and had a good turn out with 26 sleds participating. We were greeted with a warm welcome at the Community center in Caramat, and I have to say it’s always appreciated!

This past weekend we had another poker run around the Burma loop in Longlac.  13 sleds participated and with the warmer weather , made for a great ride! Personally it was a little too warm for me, I enjoy the -15 to -20c.

Plans are well on the way for our upcoming Cross Country run from Longlac to Hearst on March 21th and 22nd. We already have dozens of committed individuals with a few more showing interest in this run. Please contact Elise Corbin in Longlac at 876-2321 to make fuel arrangement etc.  Always have time to thank our volunteers and our permit buyers, so to those of you snowmobilers without a permit, stay off our trails or better yet buy a permit and help support our clubs.
